John wrote his Revelation to the seven churches of Asia who were beginning to fact persecution. They needed strengthening and reassurance. John did that by reminding them that God, through Jesus, lived as one of us, understands our challenges, and in his love for us supports us through it all. He loved his people in the past. He loves us and supports us right now. And he will keep doing so into the future. We are in eternity already, and his plan is not yet finished. We consider Revelation 1:4-8.
