A Mini-sermon: No Loophole

Today was a singing Sunday, which usually means no recording. But we’re mindful of supporting folks who listen to our recordings each week, and so Pastor Donn recorded a mini-sermon based on one of the songs requested in the light of something we recently studied in our inductive Bible study. If you have a United Methodist Hymnal handy, take a look at #428. We consider that in light of the Biblical story of the Good Samaritan. Key idea: when the scholar of the law asked, “Who is my neighbor?” he really wanted to know, “Who is NOT my neighbor?” As he often did, Jesus, in essence, said, “Wrong question. Better: how can you be a neighbor?”
