New Beginnings: And Now for Something Completely Different

Transcript

No transcript...

Jesus astonished the listeners at the Capernaum synagogue, both because of the difference in the way he taught and the response of evil spirits to his commands. This was something completely different from anything the audience had witnessed before. Our focus during this last of a series is on Mark 1:21-28.

Here are the graphics we shared:

Artist’s rendition of Peter’s house. It is only 150 feet to the synagogue.
The remains of a fourth century church built over the remains of a house that had been converted for worship, almost certainly Peter’s house in Capernaum.
A view through the glass floor of a Roman Catholic church built over the site above. We are almost certainly looking into the very space of the house where Jesus stayed when he was in Capernaum, later converted into a church.
