My Heart's Rock
I love the Common English Bible’s translation of today’s verse.
My body and my heart fail,
but God is my heart’s rock and my share forever. (Psalm 73:26, CEB)
I like the image, too, and the phrase lifted therein from The New Living Translation. But the word that most other translations render as “strength” is literally the Hebrew word for rock or cliff. It’s not only a solid piece of the planet, but a place of shelter. That’s quite a picture, isn’t it?
Peace.
