This will be the last administrative-type post for a while.
As you may have seen from earlier emails, we have combined two email lists here, since much of the content would interest both lists. However, no doubt there are some posts that would only interest a portion of the subscribers. So I’ve made two sections besides the “main section” that will make it easy for you to determine what content you want to actually see.
In this post, I’m going to show you how to add yourself to the “Church Folks” list to ensure that you get announcements and activities of interest to members and friends of Lincoln Park-Lynnwood United Methodist Church. On that same page, you can also remove yourself from the list of folks who get the emails about the audio recordings of that church (I left everyone subscribed to that one, since I thought it would have broader appeal than just the church members).
You are in control. On that page, you can even unsubscribe from here altogether. I hope you don’t. ☺️ But everyone gets too much email these days, so I will understand if you do. I just want you to know how to manage it all. I will just use as an example of adding yourself to the Church Folks list.
First, go to the website for the newsletter. You can get there by going to
. Then, in the upper right-hand corner of your screen, click on your portrait and then choose “Manage Subscription.”
You will next see a screen with several options. The screenshot below pictures the place to toggle on “Church Folks” to make sure you get announcements and activities.
Just above that, you will see “Sermon podcast.” If you don’t want to receive that, just toggle the switch off. For that matter, you could toggle on “Church Folks” and toggle off both “Sermon podcast” and “Thriving in Exile.” That way, you would only get emails about “Church Folks” posts.
For clarity: if you unsubscribe you can still come to https://pastordonn.substack.com and read posts on the Web. You can click on any of the sections and read those posts. You just won’t get email about them.
I hope that’s clear, and I hope it helps make your experience here pleasant.
